The successful treatment of periodontitis is influenced by:
     * Smoking, which slows healing of the gums.
     * Good hygiene at home, including brushing and flossing.
     * Cleaning and cleaning at the dentist for three to four months.
     * If the spouse also suffers from gum disease, it is advisable to treat also to prevent the transfer of germs.
